The key skill in video

We were reminded again of the key video skills required in a job interview just this week. There is more to video than meets the eye. To produce good video is a skill. Skill comes with practice, learning, good equipment and most importantly a good story.

The most important part of video is the story. You need to be clear in your objectives and you need to plan the video for the user, the medium and for business purposes, you need to decide what the call to action will be.

Whats the story?
The beginning, middle and the end. Every story needs them. Each needs to be thought through carefully before you start - it takes effort, time and money to make your video engaging.

Consumers are engaged by television, so your production standards need to be high and your story telling needs to be good...

Frame your story
You need to frame your story from the start, get to the meat in the middle and close at the end - remember the call to action.

Keep it simple, focus on achieving your goals and do so in a way that would bear repeat watching...

Finally, for social media marketing you need a transcript and you need to upload it to the appropriate web sites.

New Videos on Weboptimiser.com

The intention to for this post was to be an initial top tip. Indeed we have quite a few in mind, we have penned around fifty to make sure we did not get stuck for ideas. Things like best fades, when to use them, what works; lighting; how to film outside in the sun with light behind you; 3 point lighting systems for indoor filming... And so much more.

But then we finally agreed that blow it, we should show some video. We thought we would use video to demonstrate some key points. How we could use the Ken Burns effect to bring life to stills and to accurately control the quality of a pan, whilst adding sound to make the whole image look real - that is how they do it on the TV - why not show how it is done on the web?

Sure, we made some mistakes over the years, heck that is why we have so much equipment. But then... then we came back to 'lets show some video'. So now we are going to show you some video, we can cover all this other stuff later.

So we hope instead that we have whet your appetite and like all the others, you will follow this blog to see how it develops and how you could use video to work for your business on line.

So first dah dah, without further ado... here are some examples of how we make video work for our business online. Afterall, you would not want to follow a blog on Video top tips if you could not see a video would ya?

The video on our front page has just taken a speed bump it loads faster and gets to the point quicker... Search Engine Marketing

After three years in the video business we have finally put together a showreel, which we think shows the length and breadth of our video marketing expertise... Video Production

This video is based on using green screen technology (you can't see it!) Email Marketing

Here we use green screen technology mixed with a classic outdoor location that those in the UK will see every day of the week - outside the House of Lords Pay Per Click 24 hour coverage on Pay Per Click campaigns is an absolute must as we have pointed out, but we also employ continuous multi variant testing and systems which ensure your budgets go further.

We hope you enjoyed those videos, all our future posts will discuss how we made them and how you can make video work for your business. Or just make contact, we offer Video Marketing as a service to clients too!

Welcome to our Video Marketing blog

Welcome to our new blog for Video Marketing from the Weboptimiser Group.

We service clients around the world. Whilst specialising in Search Engine Marketing, we developed our expertise to cover other Media areas including Social Media and made specific investments in online Video, some three years ago. Whilst our routes and key expertise are in Search Engine Optimisation, since '96, we have established Video Marketing as a key component in Social Media.

It may not be surprising that our business, experience and our client portfolio continue to expand. Nowadays we cover more media: Email, Video, Mobile and interactive TV. Added to these technologies we add techniques for social media focussing on reputation management - essential for all brands at all stages in their lives.

If you were wondering why we do what we do... we have come to the point of realising that we like where people are going. Over these formative years we have been lucky enough to work out that we are quite good at making things work, and we have assembled a great client base that love working with us as much as we love working with them.

So, a big thanks for visiting, we hope that you enjoy this Video Marketing blog. If you are looking to employ Video, SEO, PPC or other Social Media Services, please visit the Weboptimiser web site.
